Getting Rid of Large Display Ads on Facebook

Some of you may have recently experienced a barrage of large ads on your Facebook page including boxes in the middle of the wall, vertical ads on the left and right hand sides of the page, and banner ads on the bottom.

More than likely, you have an app virus called PageRage.

Here are some examples. They range from the Military Officers Association of America ads, to the surf brand, Quicksilver:

It’s hard to see, but there is a way to opt out of these ads in 4 easy steps.

1) First, go to one of the ads.

2) Next, in very small print at the bottom right hand corner of the ad, it says ‘About This Ad’. Click on this

3) You will then be taken to another website like http://www.actaads.com/atapr.html or http://www.pluralmediallc.com/atapr.html.

4) Scroll down to the bottom and there will be an option in the last paragraph that says: “To disable PageRage and all associated advertising please visit http://pagerage.com.” Click on this link and then click on Disable PageRage.

PageRage will be disabled and they will thank you for trying out their services.

What do you think about these ads? Will you delete them or keep them? Take our survey below and see if you agree with other Facebook users.
